What can I expect when shooting with you?

When you have a bad photography experience, it sticks with you. But the same goes for good photography experiences. I’ve absolutely been blessed to be exposed to tons of spectacular photographers that made our sessions fun, comfortable, exciting and full of laughter. These types of shoots influence how I want to do shoots with my clients. I’ve also had sessions done that left a bad taste in my mouth and still make me cringe thinking about them, sometimes even months later. These inevitably impact how I want to work as a photographer as well.

Do I wish I’d never had a disappointing session, both as a client and as a photographer? Absolutely. But I think these things have pushed me to provide photoshoots and event coverage that not only meets a client’s expectations, but surpasses them. Cause I’ve been there, dealt with that.

So let’s talk about things that I strive to implement when it comes to working together.

Note: Now I know I love hearing some tea, but I won’t be sharing specific details when it comes to bad experiences. We are all learning and growing - maybe the photographer or client was just having a bad day.

What am I getting when I book with you?

  1. Met Expectations - I once hired a photographer for an event that was a huge deal to me. Like. Kind of once in a lifetime. Leading up to the event, everything seemed good to go in terms of coverage I wanted for the event, images I wanted to make sure got taken, and even the photographer’s editing style. I didn’t have an ounce of concern. Well, weeks passed following the event and I didn’t receive any sneak peaks and delivery was much later than discussed. And when we got them… oh boy. There were photos missing, the colors were off, and for how long the event was, I got less photos than I was expecting. I was devastated.

After this experience, I vowed that I would never put someone else through that same thing. When a client books with me, I make sure we’re talking about your hopes for the shoot, what ideas you have, and any needs you want fulfilled. Clients will know exactly what the window for delivery is, when you can expect sneak peaks, how delivery is managed, cost, etc. I studied communication in college so you can definitely expect to be in the loop. I’d rather over-communicate than leave you hanging, or worse, worried.

  2. Consistency - That previous experience brings me to my next point - consistency. I have spent years cultivating my editing style and working on how to master lighting in various locations and settings in order to provide clients with a cohesive album that they’ll love. My style is bright, true to color, vibrant and just straight up classic. These photos will last a lifetime and you can bet you’ll love looking back on your images. All photos are high quality jpegs that capture the beauty of your session or wedding.

  3. Timely Delivery - Don’t worry y’all, I’m always anxious to get my images back too because gosh dang it, I just wanna post them so bad! Whether you’re waiting for your engagement photos to come, pregnancy announcement images, graduation photos or wedding images, those are things you want right away. While I can’t guarantee two day delivery on wedding photos (I wish!), I can promise you’ll get sneak peaks within 24 hours of your event or shoot to hold you over until the big day - delivery day! Delivery time depends on how long your shoot is and how big the event is (weddings naturally take longer than an engagement session, which takes longer than a graduation shoot) but I’ll make sure you’re taken care of. I also can’t help myself so you may get previews all along the editing process way.

  4. A hype-woman - Having a photoshoot done can be nerve-wracking if you’ve never worked with a professional photographer before. I’ve had couples come for engagements that were reserved and soft-spoken and the idea of kissing in front of a camera was totally foreign! My job, besides taking your photos, is to make sure that you’re comfortable and confident. Need help finding that perfect outfit, message me pictures of your options! Not sure about a location, I’ll go scout it out and send you tons of pictures. Once we get shooting, I’ll direct you in posing, show you some images, and work with you to get the perfect shot. And when I get a good image? You’re totally hearing me get pumped from behind the lens.

  5. Confidence - I’ve been doing photography for over six years. From taking images just for fun to cultivating my professionalism and passion for photography into a business, I’ve been able to work with clients all over the United States and even done shoots in Italy and at New York fashion week. Years of practice has resulted in confidence in myself to deliver a cherished product and confidence in my clients that their images will be beautiful.

Have you had a not-so-good experience with a photoshoot or photographer? Same. But let’s work together to create not only a fun and memorable shoot, but also to capture images that will last long after we’ve said goodbye. But remember, it doesn’t have to be goodbye forever - just until your next big event! Then I’m there.
